HEADS UP!
The HRVI conference is right around the corner. We are anticipating a large group and an exciting/fun time. Networking at this conference will be at its best. Professors and students from ECU and VCU, USC Medical School, Haifa University in Israel, Florida International, Ole Miss, and Sacramento State will be in attendance. Top professionals in the HRV field representing research and practice applications that span basic science to theory to therapy, sport, and military applications will be presenting.
The inaugural conference now includes 3 keynotes. Our newest keynote is by Brenton Laing, PhD a former Post-Doc at NIDA and now assistant professor at Ole Miss who will present The Role of Threat-Sensitive Anterior Hypothalamic Area Activity in Control of Behavior and Physiology and how this research relates to HRV and addiction. Attendance at the HRVI Conference will provide a total of 6 hours of APA approved continuing education credit.
An early Happy Thanksgiving to you! I hope you have lots of good things to eat and enjoy your family and friends. Are you curious as to what your HRV changes would be before and after dinner? I am. What does drinking alcohol do to your HRV? What if you liked the people eating with you or not? One thing I know from my own research is that children who are obese have a very different stress reactivity to food when compared to matched lean children. I will be presenting the results of this research.
