This workshop will provide an overview of the BCIA HRV Biofe edback certification exam and how to study for it. A multidisciplinary facu lty will provide a targeted review of key knowledge areas assessed by the e xam, including the meaning and correlates of high and low HRV, physiologica l basis of biofeedback signals, instrumentation, HRV time- and frequency-do main measurements, and normal values. This workshop is designed to increase attendee confidence as they prepare for the BCIA exam, provide focused rev iew resources, and help them consolidate their learning.
Content is designed for psychologists who may have little to no background in a specialized skill or content area. Through this level of programming, the learner can become acquainted with the theoretical underpinnings, prin ciples, methods, and perspectives of a content area. An introductory level program also may serve as the foundation for subsequent intermediate and ad vanced learning. Introductory level programming may also be related to an e merging area of knowledge or practice. Although this content can be used as a foundation for more advanced learning, an introductory level program may simply focus on breadth, enrichment or general knowledge.
